Asset Management and Financial
Guidelines and model financial reports are produced to assist councils with their asset management and financial reporting.
Best Value
The Local Government Best Value Commission submits Annual Reports to the Minister for Local Government. These reports focus on the Best Value Commission's activities and meetings with councils and peak organisations. It also reports on the development of voluntary Best Value guidelines and proposes ideas and recommendations on the future directions for Best Value Victoria. View the Annual Reports.

The Department of Planning and Community Development and Local Government Victoria are working to strengthen Victorian communities. Data, Directories and Surveys
A range of annual compilations and surveys relating to councils can be accessed here, as well as a useful guide to using local data. Libraries
A wealth of information about Victoria’s public libraries is available to the general public, including comprehensive surveys and directories. There is also information on Victorian Mechanics’ Institutes, several of which retain public library services. See publications relating to libraries.
Victoria Grants Commission
The Victoria Grants Commission Annual Reports provide an overview of the Commission's activities for each financial year and details of the methodology used to allocate grants.
