Public transport projects and programs

The Department of Transport delivers projects to enhance the public transport system. Many of these projects are key actions from the Government's Meeting our Transport Challenges strategy.

New ticketing for public transport (myki) - being rolled out from 2007.

Safer public transport - projects and programs to improve the safety and security of the public transport system.

Transport interchange upgrades - ensuring easy and efficient transfers between public transport.

Road projects - VicRoads works with the Department of Transport to improve reliability and accessibility of public transport on roads.
