The Victorian Taxi Directorate (VTD) office is now located on Level 23, 80 Collins Street, Melbourne.
The new premises are located in the centre of the government and business district of Melbourne which will help the VTD ensure the delivery of safe, sustainable, and reliable taxi services.
What services are available on Level 23, 80 Collins Street, Melbourne?
The following services are available on Level 23, 80 Collins Street Melbourne:
- Accreditation and licensing applications and inquiries
- Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) applications and inquiries
- Complaints handling
- Audit and investigations inquiries
Please note that VicRoads will be closed between 1pm and 2pm daily.
What services will be available at the Safe Taxi Audit Centre, 10 Depot Drive, Melbourne Airport?
The Safe Taxi Audit (STA) Centre will continue to conduct audits of taxis at Melbourne Airport.
The STA Centre is the new location for taxi operators to clear rectification notices.
Where will vehicles be registered and inspected?
Vehicle registration and Inspection will take place at VicRoads at 459 Lygon Street, Carlton from Monday 29 June 2009. Regional operators can attend any
regional VicRoads office for the same purpose.
Vehicles can still be registered and inspected at Road Safety Inspection located at 176 Hall Street, Spotswood.
Taxi operators must obtain an 'Authority to Register' approval from the VTD at 80 Collins Street before making their way to VicRoads Carlton.
Will I be able to update my accreditation details at the Melbourne Airport STA centre?
No. All accreditation and licensing applications and inquiries will take place at 80 Collins Street, Melbourne.
Where should I park when I visit the VTD at 80 Collins Street?
Metered street parking is available and there are a number of car-parks in the immediate vicinity, including in Little Collins Street and at the ANZ towers/Sofitel Hotel on the corner of Exhibition and Collins Street.
