Introduction

An increasingly important component of public transport emergency management responsibilities includes railway reserve fire prevention and preparedness and ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are informed about the works and measures needed to prevent fires on railway reserves, particularly during Victoria's annual bush fire season.

The information on this page is particularly relevant to the rail industry, emergency service agencies, country fire authority staff, municipal fire prevention officers and municipal emergency management officers.
