The Department of Transport coordinates Victoria's extensive public transport network. The management and development of train, tram and bus services is mainly the responsibility of the Department's Public Transport Division.
What's new in public transport
  • Work has begun on the second rail bridge over the Merri Creek between Clifton Hill and Westgarth stations. Read the Premier's media release.
  • Senior Victorians will be able to travel free on Victoria's public transport network between 5 and 12 October as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival. Visit the V/Line website for details and condition on booking free travel on V/Line services.
